Default Weekend Warrior Seeking Rehab Program in New Jersey

I’m reaching out for some advice and recommendations. I’m an active weekend warrior who loves staying fit, but lately, I’ve been dealing with some nagging aches and pains from overdoing it during my workouts and outdoor activities. My busy workweek leaves me limited time, so I tend to cram all my fitness into the weekends, and I think my body is starting to feel the strain.

I’m looking for a rehab program in New Jersey that can help me recover, prevent future injuries, and maybe even improve my overall performance. Ideally, I’d love something that caters to active individuals like me and offers a comprehensive approach—whether that’s physical therapy, chiropractic care, or massage therapy. Since my schedule is tight during the week, I’d really appreciate a program that has flexible hours or even weekend availability.

If you’ve had any personal experience with rehab programs or clinics in New Jersey or know someone who has, I’d love to hear your recommendations. A program with a solid reputation and skilled staff would be a huge plus.

So yes I was a major weekend warrior. So much so, that I questioned if I was alcoholic every time I found myself tagging along with my friend to one of her AA meetings after a nasty weekend bender and the low mood spell that followed. I had it in my head that alcoholics drank everyday out of a brown paper bag or cheap vodka or Natural Ice beer. The fact I was always drinking fancy IPA’s probably hid the problem for some time, I think. I did notice though that I began getting cheaper and cheaper IPA’s, and I kind of had a realization where I could see I was doing the same thing the Popov hobos must’ve done. I figure they started with Gray Goose and worked their way lower and lower on the shelf.

Anyways, the reason I felt pushed to share is that I found an IOP program with a weekend-only option. I did 1 day at Cooper for detox and honestly, it frustrated me that I didn’t get more time, but I came in 0 days sober already and the worst of it had passed. Still, it would have been great if my insurance covered even one more day. I thought about sober living but chose to go back home and begin an IOP program, along with doing 88 in 88. I already had a sponsor because I’d tried AA before and asked my old sponsor, who was so kind and willing to help me again. The Rehab program at newjerseysober.living has a weekend-only option, and it’s been amazing so far. It’s been 1 week, and I really look forward to it. Weekends are a massive trigger for me, which is part of why this style of program has been so effective. It’s not really about work as much as keeping myself active and focused on recovery during the weekends instead of isolating and romanticizing bad decisions. So yeah, check that out and make your weekends productive. Also, attending extra meetings on weekends can be very effective! 0 or 1 a day on Saturdays and Sundays… Why not!
