Are you facing issues with your admin login not working after upgrading to Magento 2.4.4? If so, the solution provided in this blog post might be helpful to you. 😊

Magento upgrades often introduce new features and improvements, but they can also come with bugs. One such issue that arises with the Magento 2.4.4 release is related to the admin login. Several clients have reported that, after upgrading to Magento 2.4.4, the Magento 2 admin login redirects them to the login page. There are no error messages displayed on the Magento admin login page, but it simply reloads itself when the admin attempts to log in using their credentials.

By default, Magento 2 implements Session management as a security measure against denial-of-service (DoS) attacks. This practice safeguards the Magento system by limiting the maximum size of a session. The default maximum session size for both the admin and storefront is set to 256000, which is equivalent to 256KB.

However, if the value of the maximum session size is set to zero, it can disable access for the admin and lead to the issue mentioned above. The error typically occurs when the maximum session size is reset to '0' during the Magento upgrade. Consequently, the admin session gets terminated immediately upon initiation, resulting in the admin being redirected back to the login page.
