Accept Bitcoin Payments using Magento plugin
Bitcoin is the world’s first decentralized open-source payment system. Bitcoin is not owned or controlled by anyone, and anyone can use it without permission or registration. Its main use is to send payments for goods and services using an internal currency called “bitcoins”, which can be instantly converted to other currencies like EUR or USD after receiving payment.
CoinGate enables various businesses to accept Bitcoin payments easily and safely, using an API or plugins for various e-commerce platforms, including Magento and Magento 2, OpenCart, PrestaShop, Woocommerce. We charge only 1% from the amount transacted, and there are no monthly, registration or other fees. You can get paid in Euros, U.S. Dollars or bitcoins. If you choose to get paid in Euros or U.S. Dollars, you can receive all the benefits of Bitcoin transactions, while still receiving a fixed amount of money for your goods and services as usual.
Please note, that due to regulatory reasons, people or businesses located or registered in the United States of America can not use our services (every other country in the world is allowed, also if you are a business, then your customers can be from the US, just your business can not be registered there).
Main benefits for you as a merchant:
No chargeback fraud risk - credit card transactions are confirmed (become impossible to reverse) in about a month. While that month didn’t pass, credit card owner can call their bank and cancel the transaction by telling the bank that they did not authorize it, the bank charges the money from the merchant and returns them to the card owner. In that case, you can be left without your goods (if you already sent them) and without your money.
When accepting payment through the Bitcoin payment system via CoinGate, transactions are confirmed (become impossible to reverse) in a few seconds. This allows you to safely accept payments even from so-called “high risk” countries like Nigeria or Ukraine.
Customer privacy - to start using Bitcoin, your customer doesn’t need to register anywhere, doesn’t need to give-out their private information to anyone, they only need to download one of many free open-source Bitcoin wallet apps. They also do not have to disclose any of their personal information to you, unless you request it. This protects the privacy of your customers and makes identity theft impossible, because you don’t need to save and protect private information of your customers.
Additional client flow - there are several billion people in the world without a bank account or a credit card, but many of those people have internet access, which is all that is needed to be able to use Bitcoin. For those people Bitcoin if the only payment method available to buy goods and services from international merchants online.
