configurable swatches error -Cannot use string offset as an array

I created an attribute `colour` and enabled configurable swatches....
now i am getting the following error on my last checkout page and a few product listings.

Fatal error: Cannot use string offset as an array in /publich_tml/app/code/core/Mage/ConfigurableSwatches/Helper/Mediafallback.php on line 360

line 360 reads $value['images'][] = $image;

While creating new attribute from admin, have you set proper option to show in Product Listing like for Sorting in Product Listing, use In Layered Navigation etc. please check and set proper options.
