magento 2 new setup top menu not showing

    Default magento 2 new setup top menu not showing

    i have installed magento 2, created root category and subcategory, added some products as well when i search can see products, but not showing categories
    using default luma theme
    the theme shows blank white theme, how can i make root category appear on top menu bar,
    example below

    Generally Magento categories are shown automatically in menubar. Verify that you have set "Is Active" and "Include in Navigation Menu" to Yes.
