Paypal Express checkout

Hi,

I saw many of the websites having Paypal express check out option in the shopping cart?
Is that same as other Paypal modules like API ?
else some other features there?

Hi Mark,

Its different from other modules, since it does not need a merchant account in Paypal. The Features of the Express checkout will be, when customer going to purchase a product, in shopping cart this option is available when customer clicks on it with the help of the API call customer will redirect to Paypal site and after they logged in they can enter the payment details over there (credit card/Paypal payment), shipping address and it will show with the tax of the product and the shipping cost. then it will be redirected to the merchant's site then order Confirmarion will be asking to the customer. After customer confirms the order the payment/transaction be made.

Thanks for the reply.
But i have some more doubts regarding this, If customer enters payment details and the shipping address how the pay pal will show the shipping cost?
will this can be set by the admin? If so how it will show from the Paypal end?

Hi Mark,

This shipping information can be set only from the magento backend but for the express checkout scenario an API call will be made from the site to paypal so one call back server will be created. after that the info will come to paypal with the help of call back server and they will shoe you the details while customers filling the details during purchase.

PayPal will never store the details entered by your customer. it just redirect to paypal page and after payment finished it will return to the site

I am little bit clear now with paypal express checkout. Other than this any other payment type with modules available for paypal
