Both on page and off page has equal importance in SEO, after the updation of panda and penguin the strategy of both has been changed. Avoid all the black hat technique. find the below site for free tools to check the on page activities.

I completely agree with you, both SEO On-Page and Off-Page activities are equally important to rank the website over the web. Both techniques go hand in hand, without On-Page Off-Page activities will not show results, without Off-Page it would be very difficult to rank the website just using On-Page activities.
