Magento require at least 512M RAM but you need to choose at least 1GB for better performance. Other than that you need to have caching in your server, it will help your site fast. I suggest you use Redis for it.

A VPS with 512 MB guaranteed RAM and good processor should be enough but if you are going to use the VPS with control panel like cPanel or Plesk then minimum 1GB RAM should be there on the VPS.

My experience is you need to have at least 1GB RAM for your VPS or it doesn't make sense to work well.

So! Is 1GB RAM enough for moving all magento sites to one VPS? Is it necessary for the stronger one such as: 2 magento sites need 2GB RAM and so on?

Belong to the traffic, if 2 sites what need 1k views/day for each then 2 GB should be assigned.

    Hi,

    Required RAM for Magento

    Development phase:
A half to a whole GB of memory is sufficient during the development stage, depending on the size of the shop.

    Production phase – quiet shops:
If you host shops without all that many visitors, 1024 MB is usually enough for the first shop, with 256M to 384M for each additional shop.

    Production phase – busy shops:
It is usually best to host busier shops on their own VPS. In terms of size, it is usually sufficient to begin with an environment having between 1 and 2 GB for several hundred visitors per day. When the shop becomes busier, you will usually need between 4 and 8G and sometimes more. You can always contact us for advice about caching and other optimisation possibilities.

    Dont hessitate to ask us

You can always ask us to provide our informed opinion regarding the required RAM of your site. To make the best estimation for a Magento site we would like as many of the following questions answered:

Number of visitors per day/month, maximum number of simultanious visitors.
    Traffic per month
Size of the database in MB / GB
Number of articles in the shop
The actual site (if it is already online)

Because you spent too much RAM for OS, I think so. You need to configure so the OS need lowest RAM then it will be used for Magento process.

Ecommerce store needs a secure platform and a secure server. It has a transaction data and money is involved. If you choose a VPS which you say a web hosting, your resources are shared. But, with a Cloud Hosting like Amazon Web Services, Digital Ocean, Google Compute Engine, etc you will get the dedicated server where all belongs to you.

We think SiteGround is the best decision for Magento. The perfect Magento facilitating condition is a finished LAMP stack with a quick server. You can utilize shared facilitating, however VPS and Dedicated Servers give better execution and security. Search for facilitating plans with a devoted IP address, SSL testament, and CDN.
