The answer depens on what you mean by best... if you mean best as in the most jobs available you might choose php. IF you mean best as in the best paid it could be something like java or right now even python because these are new technologies in cosing ( not java ). It also depends on what you need it for, are you going to write website based scrips, then php.. if you are going cross platform or machine ai python. If you want something solid c ....every programming language has its perks and uses. There is no best.

I agree with the third commenter, Python is great. It is not the most popular yet, but definitely is very perspective (according to this stats https://diceus.com/python-developer-salary/ ). Today Python is the forth popular programming language, and this popularity is only keeps on growing.

Whats interesting to me is if you think economics your job availability should be way less on jobs that pay higher( i mean a skill that is hard to find is worth more ). I suspect when and if python grows to be mainstream as many other programming languages that salary average will drop because of a bigger competition in employable developers. I look at stats like these derived from internet searches and queries on stack exchange, who says all these people are professional developers ? They could be a bunch of millennials and dabblers looking to hop on a gravy train , the problem is saturation. The market for python developers will get over saturated like php did and then you get somebody who will do what you can do for much much cheaper. You want to make money learn a language thats been around that's too hard for just any person to learn but is needed within a industry. Oh but that isnt cool you say? that how life works, do what other people cant and you can earn what other people cant.

All Programming languages are good, but thing is that in which you have interested and in which career opportunity is more.
