The alt tag is very important in terms of SEO. Google crawler don't understand graphics or images so for crawler understanding we have to give alt tag to every image so that crawler understand what image it is. Second thing is sometimes when our internet works slow at that time pages loads very slow and images cant upload so at that time we see this alt tag and we also understands what image is here.
