Bounce rate is the amount of percentage of visit of your website. I.E. if someone have visited your website page but, instantly closed without entering any of the page then bounce rate is 100% which is not good.

Bounce rate is the percentage of single page visits (or web sessions). It is the number of visits in which a person leaves your website from the landing page without browsing any further. Bounce rate of a web page/website has nothing to do with ‘Time spent on a web page/website’ (a common misconception about marketers and webmasters). A high bounce rate generally indicates that site entrance pages aren’t relevant to your visitors.

Bounce rate is the percentage of visitors to a given website that leave the site after viewing only a single page. A high bounce rate is usually a sign that your website is not user-friendly.

Your website's bounce rate is the percentage of people who land on a page on your website, then leave. They don't click on anything else. They just get to one of your pages, hang out for a bit, then leave. You need to improve your "website usability" to raise bounce rate.

High bounce rate in itself doesn't mean it is a bad site. I would think google looks to see if you continue your search, going back to the google search results and looking at more sites.I really doubt that bounce rate make a different on SERP.

Bounce Rate is the percentage of visitors that hit your website on a given page and don’t visit any other pages on your site.

Bounce rate is an Internet marketing term used in web traffic analysis. It represents the percentage of visitors who enter the site and then leave rather than continuing to view other pages within the same site.
