This is a very important term in SEO to check whether you getting sales or signup or visitors visit site or not. Signin to Google analytics account and go to Goal section and add new goal.

Goal means aim. In Google analytics is also same, goal is to be different, you can set your own goal in analytics,,
suppose you have a web designing website and you want to set an goal, so you can set the goal steps
1. User come to your website
2. visit PHP web designing page
3. .NETDuke

5. Converted
here the above steps mentioned by you in the goal and the user perform the same task as you set the goal and converted is called Goal. The process is same for the funnel.

Using values for goals lets you focus on the highest value conversions, such as transactions with a minimum purchase amount. When a visitor to your site or user of your app performs an action defined as a goal, Analytics records that as a conversion.

Google Analytics is a software that is connected to your website through a piece of tracking code. This is a small piece of Javascript code that is made within your analytics account, like the example below. The account holder generates this code and then places it into the HTML back end of their site.
