How to check if website is penalized or not?

Hi Friends,

I want to check if my website is penalized by Google update or not. I checked Webmaster, but their is no message in Manual action. Please suggest me any tool, which can help me to check whether the website is penalized or not.

In webmaster their is no message relating to the website getting penalized. Even this tool doesn't show that the website is penalized. If all my website is not penalized than what can be the reason of drop in ranking and traffic?

If we search the website from its name without www. or extension like .com and it appears in search then we can say it not penalized nor banned and if it doest not appear in search result then it may be penalized or banned.

According to me, this is because of Google recent update. Google has recently launched an update named 'FRED' which is targeting low quality content website and heavy ads.

If you have paid tools like Moz, woorank, ahref etc... you can find out easily whether a website penalized or not.

The best way to check if your website was penalized by an automatic penalty is to login to Google analytics and review your Google organic traffic. If you see a drop in traffic during the dates that Google released an algorithmic change, then most probably you were hit and that's the reason that your traffic dropped.
