    In simple words.

Bounce Rate is the percentage of visitors that visit a page on your website and don’t visit any other pages. For example someone may come in to a page via a search engine and then go to another site without visiting any of your other pages.

The Exit Rate on the other hand is the percentage of people who have left the page but would have previously visited other pages. The figure is worked out by the percentage of visitors that leave your website from a page based on the number of visits to that page.

User come to your landing page but does not visited to other page that is called is bounce rate. I think Exit rate is the percentage of people who left your site from that page. Exits may have viewed more than one page in a session.

Bounce rate refers to the percentage of people who landed as well as exited from the same page of the website. In other words, they don't navigate to other pages of the website.

Exit rate refers to the percentage of people who exits or leave your website from any particular page of the website. The last page of the visitor is termed as Exit page of a visitor.

The visitor who exits might have visited other pages on your site, but just exited on that specific page.

Bounce rate is the percentage of people who landed on a page and immediately left. Bounces are always one page sessions.

High bounce rates are often bad, but it’s really a matter of context. Some queries may inherently generate high bounce rates. Specific informational queries (e.g. – What are the flavors of Otter Pops?) might yield high bounce rates. If the page fulfills the query intent, there may be no further reason for the user to engage. It doesn’t mean it was a bad experience, it just means they got exactly what they wanted and nothing more. (I was always partial to Louie-Bloo Raspberry or Alexander the Grape.)

A high bounce rate on a home page is usually a sign that something is wrong. But again, make sure you take a close look at the sources and keywords that are driving traffic. You might have a very low bounce rate for some keywords and very high for others. Maybe you’re getting a lot of StumbleUpon traffic which, by its very nature, has a high bounce rate.

Bounce rate is important but always make sure you look beyond the actual number.

Exit rate is the percentage of people who left your site from that page. Exits may have viewed more than one page in a session. That means they may not have landed on that page, but simply found their way to it through site navigation.

Like bounce rates, high exit rates can often reveal problem areas on your site. But the same type of caution needs to be applied. If you have a paginated article – say four pages – and the exit rate on the last page is high, is that really a bad thing? They’ve reached the end of the article. It may be natural for them to leave at that point.

Of course, you’ll want to try different UX treatments for surfacing related articles or encourage social interactions to reduce the exit rate, but that it was high to begin with shouldn’t create panic.

Exit rate should be looked at within a relative navigation context. Pages that should naturally create further clicks, but don’t, are ripe for optimization.

I have been asked on a number of occasions what the difference is between bounce rate & exit rate, especially now that Google Analytics is so widespread. Indeed many people I have spoken to believe both exit rate and Bounce Rate mean exits from your page / site. Well that is true to a certain extent the difference being that the exit rate differers slightly in that the exiting visitor may have visited other pages on your site before leaving.

Bounce Rate is the percentage of visitors that visit a page on your website and don’t visit any other pages. For example someone may come in to a page via a search engine and then go to another site without visiting any of your other pages :-(

The Exit Rate on the other hand is the percentage of people who have left the page but would have previously visited other pages. The figure is worked out by the percentage of visitors that leave your website from a page based on the number of visits to that page.

If your Bounce Rate is high and the average time spent on the page is very low then perhaps it is time to worry. Users are more than likely scanning the page and haven’t found what they are looking for... At a glance
To understand the difference between Exit Rate and Bounce Rate for a particular page, keep the following points in mind:

For all page views to the page, Exit Rate is the percentage that was the last in the session.
For all sessions that start with the page, Bounce Rate is the percentage that was the only one of the session.
Bounce Rate for a page is based only on sessions that start with that page.
    In depth
Let's clarify this last point with a simple example. Your site has pages A through C, and only one session per day exists, with the following pageview order:

    Monday: Page A > Page B > Page C
    Tuesday: Page B > Page A > Page C
    Wednesday: Page A > exit
The Content report for Page A would show 3 page views and a 50% bounce rate. You might have guessed that the Bounce Rate would be 33%, but the Tuesday pageview granted to Page A is not considered in its Bounce Rate calculation. Consider that a bounce is the notion of a session with only one interaction from the user, and the session-centric analysis answers a simple yes/no question: "Did this session contain more than one pageview?" If the answer to that question is "no," then it's important to consider which page was involved in the bounce. If the answer is "yes," then it only matters that the initial page in the session leads to other page views. For that reason, bounce rate for a page is only meaningful when it initiates the session.

BOUNCE Rate is the percentage of visitors that hit your website on a given page and don’t visit any other pages on your site.
EXIT Rate is the percentage of visitors that leave your site from a given page based on the number of visits to that page.

    Bounce Rate for a page
    * Bounce Rate is the percentage of visitors who exit your site from the landing page itself without navigating any further.
*A “Bounce” is a single-page visit to your website. Bounces are always one page sessions.
For example, visitor lands on your homepage and leaves your site without visiting any other pages on your website – that’s a “Bounce”.

    Exit Rate for a page
    * Exit Rate the percentage of visitors exiting or leaving your site from a particular page on your site.
    * Exit rate is calculated for every page separately because it is the property of an individual page independent of any other page on the site.

Calculations of Bounce and Exit rates
    * Bounce Rate is calculated by taking the total number of Bounces (to your website or a set of pages, depending on what you’re looking at), and dividing it by the total number of Visits (to your website or a set of pages, depending on what you’re looking at).
    * Exit Percentage is calculated by taking the total number of Exits, and dividing them by the total number of Pageviews (Not Visits – Pageviews) .....Core Java Training | Mainframe Training | J2EE Training | SQL Server DBA Training | Dot Net Training | Oracle DBA Training
