One of the most common Google Analytics questions I get is to explain the difference between bounce rate and exit rate. Here's what I hope is a simple explanation. Bounce rate is the percentage of people who landed on a page and immediately left. Bounces are always one page sessions. Bounce Rate is the percentage of visitors that visit a page on your website and don’t visit any other pages. For example someone may come in to a page via a search engine and then go to another site without visiting any of your other pages.

The Exit Rate on the other hand is the percentage of people who have left the page but would have previously visited other pages. The figure is worked out by the percentage of visitors that leave your website from a page based on the number of visits to that page.
    Very nice answer, Thank You

Bounce Rate is the percentage of single-page visits that means visits in which the person left your site from the entrance page without interacting with the page.

Exit Rate is the percentage of visitors that leave your site from a given page based on the number of visits to that page.

Bounce rate is a measure of the effectiveness of a website in encouraging visitors to continue with their visit.

Exit rate as a term used in web site traffic analysis (sometimes confused with bounce rate) is the percentage of visitors to a site who actively click away to a different site from a specific page, after possibly having visited any other pages on the site. The visitors just exited on that specific page.
