you'll ahould to build links in every way you can think of. Exchange reciprocal links, encourage your visitors to link to you, write newsletter articles and so on. Just try to make sure that when someone links to a page on your site, the link text includes your most important keyword. One more reason to include keywords in the headings and titles of your pages.

Exact Match Domain: EMDs may still give you an edge…if it’s a quality site. But if the EMD happens to be a low-quality site, it’s vulnerable to

Country TLD extension: Having a Country Code Top Level Domain (.cn, .pt, .ca) helps the site rank for that particular country…but limits the site’s ability to rank globally

Keyword in Title Tag: The title tag is a webpage’s second most important piece of content (besides the content of the page) and therefore sends a strong on-page SEO signal
Title should be 60 to 65 characters

Title Tag Starts with Keyword: According to Moz data, title tags that starts with a keyword tend to perform better than title tags with the keyword towards the end of the tag:

Keyword in Description Tag: Another relevancy signal. Not especially important now, but still makes a difference.

Description should be 150 to 150 characters

Content Length:  Content with more words can cover a wider breadth and are likely preferred to shorter superficial articles. SERPIQ found that content length correlated with SERP position:

800 words content should be on the web page with keywords Variations Keywords Variations:
LSI Keywords in Title and Description Tags: As with webpage content, LSI keywords in page meta tags probably help Google discern between synonyms. May also act as a relevancy signal.
Page Loading Speed via HTML: Both Google and Bing use page loading speed as a ranking factor. Search engine spiders can estimate your site speed fairly accurately based on a page’s code and filesize.
Duplicate Content: Identical content on the same site (even slightly modified) can negatively influence a site’s search engine visibility
Rel=Canonical: When used properly, use of this tag may prevent Google from considering pages duplicate content.
Page Loading Speed via Chrome: Google may also use Chrome user data to get a better handle on a page’s loading time as this takes into account server speed, CDN usage and other non HTML-related site speed signals.
Image Optimization: Images on-page send search engines important relevancy signals through their file name, alt text, title, description and caption.
Recency of Content Updates: Google Caffeine update favors recently updated content, especially for time-sensitive searches. Highlighting this factor’s importance, Google shows the date of a page’s last update for certain pages:
Keyword Prominence: Having a keyword appear in the first 100-words of a page’s content appears to be a significant relevancy signal.
Keyword in H2, H3 Tags: Having your keyword appear as a subheading in H2 or H3 format may be another weak relevancy signal. Moz’s panel agrees:
HTML errors/W3C validation: Lots of HTML errors or sloppy coding may be a sign of a poor quality site. While controversial, many in SEO think that WC3 validation is a weak quality signal.
Keyword in URL: Another important relevancy signal.
Breadcrumb Navigation: This is a style of user-friendly site-architecture that helps users (and search engines) know where they are on a site:
Mobile Optimized: Google’s official stance on mobile is to create a responsive site. It’s likely that responsive sites get an edge in searches from a mobile device. In fact, they now add “Mobile friendly” tags to sites that display well on mobile devices. Google also started penalizing sites in Mobile search that aren’t mobile friendly
Internal Link Anchor Text: Internal link anchor text is another relevancy signal, although probably weighed differently than backlink anchor text.
Schema.org Microformats: Pages that support microformats may rank above pages without it. This may be a direct boost or the fact that pages with microformatting have a higher SERP CTR

You should start Off-Page SEO (the optimization, which is done outside of your site) only after you are done with the On-Page SEO of your site. Here are some tried and tested Off-Page methods that should be followed not only in 2016 but also in the coming years -

Broken link building: Broken link building includes analyzing backlinks on a relevant website, searching for a dead link, getting in touch with the owner and letting them know about their broken links. Since you are helping the owner of that website by making them, know about their broken links, they can replace their dead links to your site links in return of the favor.
Infographics: Infographics hold a lot more importance than other forms of media. Especially, because they are easily consumable. These are visually appealing and easy to understand, thus being more prone to get shared online than other forms of content. Infographics are a great way of spreading your message and reach through social shares. If you spend money on making a good infographic, that will pay you much more for a long time.
Blogging and blog commenting: It is a powerful way to engage the audience to your site, even in 2016. You must maintain a quality content on your site, and you can also leave your links while commenting on others blog posts. Don’t just spam your links, use your brain and create relationships.
Social Networking Sites: By connecting with the people on social networking sites, you can drive organic traffic simply via sharing posts, starting discussions and creating engagement around your brand.
Forum Postings: Create a new thread on the forum and start discussions to engage the audience and leave your site links in the post or reply section to gain more traffic to your site naturally. Ideally, if you are active on niche relevant forums, then some of them even allow you to keep a link to your website in the Signature Section. That means, the more you engage in the forum. The more people will see your links.
Social Bookmarking: You can do social bookmarking in some popular sites like StumbleUpon, Tumblr, Reddit, Digg, etc. to maintain freshness of content on your website because Google likes websites that are up-to-date.
Link Exchange: Thematic Link Exchange is the exchange of links between 2 service-related industries to increase your link popularity. It is self-explanatory. Just do not exchange links with a farm house. (I hope you get what I mean)
Image and Video Promotion: Share your Website’s pictures and videos on social media platforms like Pinterest, Flickr, YouTube, Metacafe and much more under your niche-related category.
Business Reviews: Review about others business on some review platforms like RateitAll, Kaboodle, etc. & ask them to do so in return.
Link Bating: Link bating is the another way to gain link popularity by publishing others content on your site and giving their reference as source site, and others will do so in return, which eventually promotes your links.
Press Release: If you are a service provider, then you must go for PR submission on Mequoda, CyberAlerts, Vitis PR, etc., which will automatically publish your website in Google News.
Local Listings & Yellow Pages: List your website on Yellow Pages, Google Maps as a local business to reach out to more local people and generate more organic leads.
Social eCommerce Network: If you run an eCommerce website you should submit your products to Google Product Search, MSN Shopping, Yahoo Shopping, etc.
PPC Ad Campaign: You can opt for PPC and Ad campaigns with targeted keywords that are relevant to your niche. This will surely grab some attention on the internet, but be sure to consult with an expert before doing this as PPC campaigns can be money intensive. It is better to spend $200 dollars on hiring an expert PPC Guy and spend $200 for ads than to do it yourself and spend $400 on ads. (Unless you absolutely know what you are doing).
Run a Quiz or Poll: By running quiz, polls or giveaways, the chances are very high to attract more audience to your site because people love to play around the web and love getting freebies. So, it will be a win-win situation for you.
Remember: Overdoing some of these strategies like Link Exchange, Link Baiting, Blog Commenting (on low quality websites), can attract a Google Penalty. So, it’s always better to take an expert assistance when you do these things. I hope you found this helpful.

    Hi,

You don't need a site map to get indexed in a search database.

Suggest you choose 8 to 10 keywords, and concentrate on On-site SEO first, get that right and you'll get some enquiries. Getting any links of value will be impossible, as such huge traffic sites wont give up their webspace to lower status sites or for free.
