The W3C is an industry consortium which seeks to promote standards for the evolution of the Web and interoperability between WWW products by producing specifications and reference software. Although W3C is funded by industrial members, it is vendor-neutral, and its products are freely available to all.

The organization's purpose is to develop open standards so that the Web evolves in a single direction rather than being splintered among competing factions.

    Hi,

W3C validation stands for World Wide Web Consortium. It's functionality is to check the validity of Web documents like HTML, XHTML etc. However, in layman terms we can say that it's the process of checking a Web document against Document Type Definition.

Website that are W3C have better friendliness and accessibility, easy to edit and maintain. Also it's important to use W3C conventions as much as possible and ensures that website work on other browsers like FireFox, Chrome, IE etc.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated

    Thanks !

We in the "web world" tend to use scary words and acronyms. I'll translate this from "Tech" into English for you.

The World Wide Web Consortium was created in October 1994 to lead the World Wide Web to its full potential by developing common protocols that promote its evolution and ensure its interoperability. W3C has nearly 450 member organizations from all over the world and has earned international recognition for its contributions to the growth of the Web. W3C's Role: As with many other information technologies, in particular those that owe their success to the rise of the Internet, the Web must evolve at a pace unrivaled in other industries.
