believe me, even though you only need magento hosting for a very small traffic site, you still need a good hosting for magento. Because it will take you a lot of time on development and deployment. Maybe this thread is too long time until me. But I would say no for a too cheap hosting and I suggest a good hosting what is designed for magento. SiteGround is good too. They are not cheap to me but they provide a very professional service so you can have peace in mind when using them. Other than that, we of course have many more options. But I would say no with cheap magento hosting like $1/month or something like that.
