This isn't a new tip but its one that I don't see shared enough. Anytime that I create a new page or significantly edit an existing page, I always log into Google Webmaster Tools and force them to fetch the new page. I've seen pages indexed within an hour this way.

Log into your Google Webmaster Tools account.

Go to "Crawl > Fetch As Google" and you should see this page appear:
Name: 12-1-2014 4-37-08 PM.jpg
Views: 60
Size: 83.4 KB

Then, enter the URL of your new or revised page into the URL field and click the "Fetch" button.

You should see the page refresh and your new URL show up in the list below. There will be a button called "Submit to Index".
Name: 12-1-2014 4-46-53 PM.jpg
Views: 76
Size: 67.2 KB

Click the "Submit to Index" button and you will see a pop-up that asks if Google should crawl only this URL or Crawl this URL and its direct links.
Name: 12-1-2014 4-48-54 PM.jpg
Views: 83
Size: 61.9 KB

Click the submit button and the page will refresh with your status marked as complete and message that the URL has been submitted.
