    Exclamation Configure Canonical Tags to Use HTTPS Path?

    Our client's site runs entirely on https: URLs, but the canonical tag settings all point to http: URLs.

    Live URL: https://www.clientsite.com/
    Current Canonical Tag: http://www.clientsite.com/ (wrong; creating duplicate content & sending inconsistent signals to search engines)
    Desired Canonical Tag: https://www.clientsite.com/

    We are very interested in finding out how/where this can be modified to be consistent with the site's actual URL structure (https site-wide.

    Thanks in advance for any help!

    Have you try the canonical tag inside the header?

    <link rel="canonical" href="Site URL" />

    In site URL, put the URL that you want to index on Google.

    Default

    The pages currently have the canonical tag in-place, but I believe the URLs are being populated dynamically. The site has thousands of pages so configuring them 1-by-1 is not feasible.

    We are looking to replace the base URL (??) with an https version of each URL instead of the default http version.
