The recruitment drive is based on two written competitive exams (IBPS RRB Officer Prelims 2019 and IBPS RRB Officer Mains 2019 Exams) followed by interview round, conducted by IBPS.

The main objective of establishing RRB Banks was to abolish “Zamindari System” from India and financially helping farmers by providing them agricultural loans. The role of IBPS RRB Officer is also to create awareness about banking and its benefits in rural areas. Besides encouraging farmers for agricultural loans, the Officer has to be cautious as most of the agriculture loans and loans to allied sectors turn into NPA very quickly. To attract a wider segment of people in rural areas, the IBPS RRB Officer should adopt lucrative and attractive methods of encouraging banking among them. In many rural areas, the “Loan Mela”, a festive to promote banking awareness is conducted, to explain different types of loans and schemes with its benefits, implemented by Government of India, for the betterment of Indian farmers. It helps in building communication and relationship with rural peoples and attracts larger segments of farmers.
