    Cool Magento SSL Setup

The private SSL certificate is an important upgrade to your website. The basic function of an SSL is to encrypt all communication between the browser and the server, ensuring that all data goes through a secure (HTTPS) connection. An SSL certificate is a necessity when you want to operate an online shop and process the sensitive customers data through your software. It helps you gain your clients' trust and increase your web site's search engines rank.

The certificate could be easily enabled through the Magento Admin area -> System -> Configuration -> Web. There you can define the insecure (non-SSL) and secure (SSL) URLs:

In the Base URL fields you should enter the unsecure (regular) web site URL and the web site URL for the SSL connections. You can leave the other values unchanged, as they will be set automatically by the script after you enter the Base URL. Basically the other fields define the URLs of the main Magento store page and the URLs of the skin, media and JavaScriptfolders. The drop-down menus allow you to enable and disable the SSL support for the web site's frontend and backend.Bear in mind that the SSL connection over HTTPS is slower than the HTTP, thus secured connection should be applied only to the pages that contain and process sensitive information. Also, it is recommended to run the admin interface through an SSL. In this way you will increase the security of the script's backend.

To begin with, present the downloaded CSR record to the SSL supplier to get yourdomain.crt (Certificate Code) and yourdomain.ca (Chain File). At that point click on INSTALL.

If you are an e-commerce provider, you should use SSL Certificate to protect the data and transactions for customers. This article will guide you how to enable SSL in Magento 2 step by step.

The SSL Certificate stands for Secure Sockets Layer, which is an important upgrade to your site to make sure that all data goes through a secure connection between the server and the website. When your customers sign up on your site and provide their credit card information or personal details, the SSL certificate takes responsibility for keeping them in safe. As a result, buyers will feel more secure shopping on your online store, hence this increases the conversion rate.

After you have installed SSL Certificate in your domain, you need to enable it for your Magento 2 store. Follow these steps below to enable SSL:

To enable SSL in Magento 2, following 5 steps

Step 1: Navigate to Stores > Configuration
Step 2: Under General Menu, click on web
Step 3: The settings page will display
Step 4: Select Base URLs (Secure) on the settings page
Step 5: Click on Save config to save the settings process
