Installation will not work (/tmp in open_basedir is not in allowed path)

Hello,
I've searched so much and nothing worked to get the installation from my magento done.
I had contact to my hoster and he sad, that the /tmp dir will not be added to the open_basedir. I have to change the base tmp dir in the config file of magento.
But i don't have any idea where I can do this.

Can you help me to get the installation done?
