It will show an Ajax pop-up window with selected product(s) log and call-for-action buttons to Continue shopping or Go to checkout page while you are not navigated away from the current page.
Compared to a default Magento store when customer clicks on Add to cart button on any pages it will go to product details page then customer will add product to cart and the customer has to repeat these steps if more products are added. If the customer is buying a configurable product with different options and attributes, he can select relevant options right on the Ajax pop-up window for the product and then continue shopping or go to checkout page.
