A Web crawler sometimes called a spider or spiderbot and often shortened to the crawler, is an Internet bot that systematically browses the World Wide Web, typically for the purpose of Web indexing.
In the context of SEO, ‘crawling’ basically refers to a robot which is automatically surfing the web, categorizing and analyzing each site it encounters.
