Hello Friends I want to know what a prompt box in website designing is.
The prompt() method displays a dialog box that prompts the visitor for input. A prompt box is often used if you want the user to input a value before entering a page.

Its just another method of collecting information albeit with less options on your website. Like radio boxes , drop down selections and so forth which are more subtle . This is just a bit more forceful and in your face , which is ok if you click on something that "prompted it" but dont overuse it , users will get frustrated and leave your website.
As above however it may not always require the entry of text, it could just require a user action, usually a choice.
