Error 404 means that the server could not find the web page...it is called also HTTP standard response code,the meaning of that is server unable to connect with user..
404 error indicates that the server itself was found, but that the server was not able to retrieve the requested page. In a simple language page not found by google but its still in server backhend. So inorder to avoid 404 error, redirect that page to other woking page of website.
